Video walkthrough

This walkthrough uses the real DeanDesk interface with the fictional Northstar Academy demo school and a calm, AI-generated English voice. Payments and outside services are not connected in the demo.
Your school is created. Now make it feel like yours. Open School setup at /admin/getting-started in your school, or choose Continue setup from its Admin Dashboard. Select Take a quick tour to see how the checklist works. Choose a step on the left (or use Setup step on a phone), open its admin tool, or use Read the guide and Watch walkthrough for help. Each guide below uses the current UI labels and includes a narrated video, English captions and a transcript. Your school’s administrators share the saved review progress. Review steps in the order that makes sense for your team. Academic steps appear only when they apply to your school.

1. School identity and branding

Help families recognize your school and confirm the details they will rely on.

2. Enrollment and admissions

Make the registration, application or purchase journey match your school’s actual audience.

3. Courses and learning material

Create complete learning experiences with the right instructors, content and access.

4. Staff, learners and families

Create the correct school accounts and family relationships before sending invitations.

5. Products, prices and payments

Ensure each offer has the right product type, price, checkout requirements and learner access.

6. Website and content

Make your public site clear, recognizable and connected to the correct school actions.

7. Test the complete experience

Rehearse the real parent, learner or buyer experience before publishing and inviting people.

Keep progress useful

After making changes, return to the step and select Refresh checks. Mark it reviewed only after checking it yourself, including confirming when it does not apply. Taking the tour, reading a guide or watching a video does not mark a step complete. Open setup assistant → Run setup review asks the existing school assistant to inspect your configuration and suggest next actions. Test the real learner or family journey yourself before choosing Finish setup review.
Finishing the checklist records your team’s review. It does not publish content, send invitations, enable live payments or certify launch readiness. The videos use fictional demo data. Steps 1 and 2 are human-recorded tutorials; steps 3–7 currently use AI-generated narration.
