# Admin AI

> Use the school-level AI assistant to draft emails, build quizzes, create pages, and answer questions about your school.

<Info>
  **School-level feature** — available to admins inside your school portal at `yourschool.deandesk.com`. For the institution-level assistant, see [Institution AI Chat](/institution/ai-chat).
</Info>

The **Admin AI** is a floating assistant that sits on every page of the Admin Dashboard. It can answer questions about your school and **take action inline** — drafting emails, building quizzes, creating pages, and more — without making you leave the dashboard you're on.

## Open the chat

Click the floating **Admin AI** button in the bottom-right corner of any admin page. The assistant slides out as a chat panel.

## What the assistant can do

| Area | What it can do |

| **Email** | Draft emails to students, parents, courses, or rosters (see Inline Email Composer) |
| **Quizzes** | Draft quiz questions and answers (see Inline Quiz Editor) |
| **Pages** | Create or edit a school page, with blocks or HTML (see Inline Page Builder) |
| **Products** | Look up products, summarize sales |
| **School configuration** | Reference your school's settings, hostname, and policies |
| **Docs** | Answer how-to questions by reading the DeanDesk docs |

## Inline Email Composer

Ask the assistant to draft an email and it renders an **Inline Email Composer** in the chat. The composer shows:

* Subject and HTML body
* Audience selector (courses, rosters, email lists, or manual recipients)
* Send / Edit / Discard controls

You can edit any field before sending. When you click **Send**, the email goes out through the same Communications system you'd use from the email composer.

## Inline Quiz Editor

Ask the assistant to draft a quiz (e.g. *"draft a 10-question multiple choice quiz on the water cycle for 4th graders"*) and it renders an **Inline Quiz Editor** in the chat with the proposed questions, choices, and correct answers. Edit any question, then save the quiz to a course of your choice.

## Inline Page Builder

Ask the assistant to build a school page (e.g. *"build a public welcome page for new families with three sections: about us, what to expect, and how to apply"*) and it renders an **Inline Page Builder Card** in the chat showing the proposed blocks. You can:

* Edit individual blocks
* Reorder blocks
* Switch between blocks and raw HTML modes
* Publish directly from the chat or save as a draft

See [Pages](/lms/pages) for details on the page editor.

## Conversation history

Every conversation is saved per admin. Open the chat history to resume past conversations or start a new one.

## Model selection

The chat lets you pick the model. Faster lower-latency models work well for routine lookups; more capable models do better on multi-step tasks like drafting a long quiz or designing a page.

<Tip>
  Use Admin AI as a "second monitor" for routine tasks: while you're reviewing applications, ask it to draft acceptance emails. While you're grading, ask it to summarize a student's progress for a parent.
